My Peace Corps service began in January 2004. I was trained in the Water Sanitation sector at our training facility outside of Bamako. After having worked for a number of months in this field creating greater access to potable water in the Kalabankoro quartier of Bamako, I had begun looking for other work to fill my free time - something closer to my previous experiences and more in-tune with where I saw myself going in the future, both with my studies and professionally. One evening at dinner then Geekcorps (GCM) director, Ian Howard, mentioned to me that he was looking for someone to help GCM with non-technical, business modeling, management, and organizational projects.
